A proper pet turf install starts with demolishing whatever's down now, grading for positive drainage, and laying a crushed decomposed granite base compacted to spec. From there, the turf is cut, seamed, and secured with no gaps that a dog can peel back.     Demo and Site Prep

    We remove your existing surface, grade the area for drainage direction, and compact a crushed DG base. The demo work is included in scope. You won't need a separate contractor.

  2. 02

    Turf Cut, Seam, and Secure

    Rolls are cut to your yard's exact dimensions, seamed so lines disappear, and nailed or stapled to the perimeter. Seam placement keeps them out of high-traffic dog zones where possible.

  3. 03

    Infill and Final Brush

    Zeolite infill goes down at the correct rate per square foot, then we power-brush the fibers upright. The yard looks finished because it is. We don't leave until it's clean and inspected.

Does pet turf actually eliminate odor, or just reduce it?
Zeolite infill neutralizes ammonia at the molecular level rather than masking it. Paired with a weekly rinse, a properly installed pet turf system stays odor-free. Yards that smell bad usually have the wrong infill, not enough of it, or a base that isn't draining correctly. All three are installation decisions, not maintenance failures.
Can dogs dig through pet turf and damage the base?
A dig-resistant install puts the perimeter edge below the natural dig line and stakes it with bender board or concrete edging. Dogs that dig at fences are trying to get under a gap. Close that gap with buried edging and most dogs stop within days. We design the perimeter to account for this during the planning walkthrough.
How does pet turf hold up in Arizona summer heat?
The fiber itself doesn't degrade in heat. What does get hot is the surface temperature, synthetic grass in direct July sun gets warmer than natural grass. Shade from a pergola or patio cover makes a real difference for dogs who stay outside mid-afternoon. A light hose rinse drops surface temp in minutes. We can discuss shade structure options during your quote if that's a concern.
What drainage rate do I need for a yard with multiple large dogs?
For yards with two or more large dogs, we spec backing with a percolation rate of at least 30 inches per hour. Standard residential turf often runs 15-20 inches per hour, which is not enough. The compacted DG base beneath the turf also has to be graded correctly, a flat base holds liquid instead of moving it. This is where a cheap install fails first.
Is pet turf safe for dogs who chew on things?
Modern pet turf fiber is lead-free and manufactured without heavy metal pigments. The infill materials we use are non-toxic. That said, no turf manufacturer recommends it as something a dog should actively ingest. If you have a chewer, the perimeter is the vulnerability. A dog that pulls at edges can loosen a seam. We discuss this honestly during the quote so you know what to watch for.
How long does a pet turf installation take from start to finish?
Most residential pet turf installs finish in one to two days depending on square footage, base condition, and site access. If the existing surface requires significant demo or if there are drainage corrections to make, it can extend to three days. We give you a realistic timeline during the estimate, not an optimistic one.
